I lay at night now, cold, under the fan,
like waiting in the darkness will arrange me to awake differently.
The air blows around me and I listen to stillness,
to the the whisp whisp whisp of the fan.
I am alone in the giant bed, my arms flung wide, wondering why I had to let the bones show and the mind slip before I showed weakness and said please.
